switching storage rooms

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday of this week have been filled with moving...storage rooms that is. Our old storage room was on the complete opposite end of the building; after 3 years, we finally snagged the one right outside our door! Yes! Makes my life sooo much easier!

I have actually enjoyed this whole process because it has made me feel so much more organized! Clay went out & bought me as many similar bins as he could find & we loaded them up, labeled them & moved them into our new storage room. Do I feel more organized as a result of it? Yes. Did I get rid of as much as I should have? No...I never do! Did I enjoy it & am glad we did it? Yes!

After over 72 trips back & forth between the old storage room & the new one, 3 trips to Walmart & Target, & 8 extremely large storage containers later, it felt as if we had moved a tiny house! But hey...it was all worth it! :)

Parker couldn't get enough of daddy's bike...it took A LOT of coaxing & pleas to get him off...did we accomplish it with no tears? Nope, we didn't have a chance in the world! But, we made it up to him by feeding him some delicious Honeycrisp apples as a treat & letting him take a trip with daddy in "Troublemaker!" ha ha!

Just wanted to share one of our latest favorite organizational tools for Parker's toys ... so this black chest was a freebie from Slumberland when Clay & I purchased another piece of furniture for our bedroom suite a couple of years back. For the longest time it sat empty, but it just looked perfect by the edge of the couch.

After P-man came along, I thought, "This would be the perfect place to put Parker's little toys & extra books!" It worked like a charm...until Christmas that is...when he started getting bigger toys like the Fisher-Price farm, shape sorters, blocks, etc. Clay & I were at Target about a month ago & we ran across these buckets in all different colors. We both looked at each other & went straight for the red one. It has been perfect for our space in "Parker's corner."

packing & leaving things in order

Tonight...I have been packing to leave for MS tomorrow (at 4:30am to be exact!)

Making sure laundry is done before leaving; I love it when my basket is totally empty before I head out on a trip! :)

Cleaning kitchen, doing dishes, taking out trash...these are the things that I HAVE to do before I leave on every trip. It makes me feel like everything is complete & in order!

Clay, Parker & I are headed down to MS for the weekend; my brother is graduating from college. Whoohoo! I am so proud of him & can't wait to see everybody! I'll try to update with pictures while we're down there!
